I established Christina De Melo Photography, Video & Design in 2010 and never turned back. I’ve worked on hundreds of photo assignments and video productions, and I bring along over a decade of knowledge and experience in the media and marketing industries to every project I work on.

Whether I am taking still photos, filming video, or working on designs with a brand, I am always looking to tell a story that makes people feel something. Feel joy, excitement, desire, nostalgia, love, curiosity, inspiration, wonder.

It has to do with the big picture and the details. It has to do with focus, form, expression, and light (always the light). It has to do with colour and sound and the sequence things are put together in. It has to do with practice and instinct. It’s a science and an art, and it’s what I have spent my life mastering.

My visual style is contemporary with a healthy dose of filmic nostalgia depending on whether we are doing something commercial or sentimental. I use the latest technology but always want my imagery to feel warm, never digital. I am careful not to fall into fleeting trends of heavy-handed, overly-filtered looks that come and go. I’m always shooting for visuals that look and feel timeless.

I grew up in Mississauga and moved to Hamilton in 2004 to work towards two degrees at McMaster University, including a Master of Arts in New Media and Communication (shout out to all my McMaster peeps!). My work takes me all around the Golden Horseshoe & GTA, and I'm happy to have Hamilton as my home base. I love collaborating with people!
